On January 13th, my dad, Bryon- known to many as "Minturn the Magician", suffered a serious fall that resulted in a traumatic spinal injury. He was exposed to the cold for an extended period of time before being found by his neighbors and was LifeFlighted from Catawba Island to St. Vincent Hospital in Toledo. He has since undergone emergency spinal surgery, and doctors have shared that his recovery will be long and uncertain, with the possibility of permanent mobility loss to his upper and lower extremities.

Everything happened so suddenly. My mom, Lois, and his wife of 42 years was away that night working her nightshift as a nurse in Lorain. She has been by his side nonstop, trying to process the shock while facing overwhelming worries about how to manage daily life, medical expenses, travel costs, and household bills during this crisis. Like so many families, we were not prepared for something like this to happen overnight.

We are setting up this GoFundMe to help relieve some of the financial stress so my mom can focus on being there for my dad and navigating the road ahead without the constant fear of how bills will be paid. Funds raised will help cover living expenses, travel and lodging costs, missed work, and medical-related expenses.
