Help Support Brantley’s Mental Health Journey

Because no family should face this alone. My son Brantley has been struggling with his mental health for several years. He’s battled severe depression, suicidal thoughts, and the weight of trauma no child should ever have to carry. Brantley has experienced trauma, including being the victim of sexual assault by someone he trusted. The impact of that pain has led him to years of depression, suicidal thoughts, and deep emotional isolation. He’s been fighting to stay alive—and now, he’s in a place where he can finally begin the work of healing in safety.

Right now, he’s in a psychiatric hospital—five hours away from home—after a temporary detention order was issued to keep him safe. We’re waiting to find out how long he’ll be there, and there’s a chance he could be placed in long-term residential care if his doctors feel that’s what he needs. As a family, we’re doing everything we can to hold it all together—but it’s hard. Really hard. Brantley’s siblings are also struggling with the emotional stress of this situation. We have only one vehicle, and the travel, time off work, and constant coordination with care providers have become overwhelming. Finding reliable childcare for his siblings while I travel is another major challenge. We’ve also had to purchase new clothes for Brantley to meet the hospital’s strict dress code—an unexpected cost that adds to everything else.

Your donation will help with travel (gas, lodging, meals), childcare for Brantley’s siblings, time missed from work to be with him, clothing and personal items needed for hospital stays, and future expenses if long-term residential care is recommended.
