Bodhi came into Kyle's life as a 2-year-old rescue after living with 4 different families before finding his forever home with us. I met Bodhi a year later and he was so incredibly easy to love.
On 3/23/25, our sweet 9-year-old Bodhi underwent an emergency surgery after veterinarians discovered a ruptured mass on his spleen causing severe internal bleeding and a rapid decline in health.
We are currently in a difficult waiting period. Test results to determine the pathology of the mass will take 10-14 days.
The results could show one of two possibilities:
1. Hemangiosarcoma: An aggressive cancer with a poor prognosis (~75% chance). Without treatment, Bodhi has 1-3 months to live; with chemotherapy, his life expectancy can be extended.
2. Benign hematoma: A less likely, but positive outcome, which could lead to full recovery and a long life.
The uncertainty has been difficult. The cost of the emergency surgery, hospitalization, and follow-up care has been overwhelming, and we are reaching out for support from family, friends, and animal lovers who want to help.
We are so grateful for your kindness, positive thoughts, and generosity.
Thank you for supporting Bodhi and being part of his journey.
Kyle and Melissa
