If you're reading this now, you have likely also been seeing Cindy's updates about Billy who has been hospitalized again, this time since October 17.

He was brought to Avera hospital ICU for a suspected infection that turned out to be multiple infections, caused by an unknown mass perforating the stomach wall. An exploratory surgery turned into the removal of this mass along with portions of small intestine, and the recovery from this has been rough, to say the least... multiple breathing tubes, the painful process of returning to hemodialysis, a post-surgery abscess in the abdomen...

It has all just been so much, on top of so much, on top of so much.

HONOR THE FIGHT

I was so moved by Cindy's words the other day: "we decided to honor the 'fight' that we have seen in Billy over the last 10 days. Actually throughout his entire life. He is a true warrior and I just cannot do anything else but help him fight."

I know there are many family and friends from across the decades and across many churches that would like to honor this fight, too. And to honor not just Billy and Cindy, but the kids and grandkids that bring them healing joy. In order to heal, it is critical for Billy to have his people around him right now, but simple costs are beginning to pile up and will become more varied as the hospital stay stretches on.

SO WHAT CAN WE DO?

(1) GIVE:

We want to try to put any supports in place to make it just a little bit easier, so that these families can focus on being together, and have no financial worries on the back burner, no thoughts about what happens when the bills from this hit or when their deductible starts over in only two months from now.

Money raised by this GoFundMe will initially go to current costs like food, hospital parking, car rentals, flights, hotel/AirBnB stays, etc. As needs diversify from there (and later, if/when hospital bills come from this), we will update you.

(2) PRAY:

Please continue to pray for them, lifting them up to God during a most difficult fight. Pray for presence, healing, and peace. Pray for rest and new strength in Billy's body as it tries to fight and heal from several things at once.
