Help support bigmoosecoffeeco after 4th break in
Donation protected
bigmoose is a charity and non-profit coffee shop working to help with mental health, homelessness and the prevention of suicide.
It is a coffee shop with a heart. They employ, train and mentor people who’ve experienced homelessness and other disadvantaged people. They do a lot of work to help their team with their mental health including providing free counselling as well as having an open door policy so they are always available to chat and provide that same support for the community also.
They once got sent a message from a guest that said:
“thank you for being a safe place to go when the world gets too much” - which I think summarises what they do beautifully.
However, for the fourth time, and just a day before Christmas Eve, they have been broken into. Each time this happens they respond with the upmost compassion for the individual and optimism for their cause, smile through it all, support their team and get back to business as soon as possible. They’ve had donation jars stolen, their music system/electrical goods, so much stock, alcohol from the bar and experienced more damage than ever this time with not only the window being broken in but the back door also. This costs so so much money each time, and at a time where it’s hard for small businesses anyway, we wanted to rally together and put together some support for them as they face this big hurdle at Christmas, and give back to a cause that’s given so much to our city. If you could spare the cost of a coffee or anything at all for these wonderful people who continue to serve our community, it would be so deeply appreciated. We need communities and safe spaces like bigmoose doing what they do in our city more than ever right now, and I just hope we can get behind them and allow them to keep leaving the world better than they found it. so thank you in advance for supporting, donating or sharing this in whatever way you can.
