Help Beth Stay Afloat After Federal Job Loss

Donation protected
On behalf of our best friend Beth, a woman who has devoted her entire adult life to preserving the integrity and beauty of our world's historical sites, we ask for your support after her unfortunate and untimely firing from Independence Hall in Philadelphia, her dream job, the site of the foundation of the U.S., due to President Trump's gut of the National Park Service and all other federal agencies this month.

From archeological digs in Cyprus, to securing a Master’s Degree in Museum Studies from the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom, and back to Philadelphia where she was employed first by Eastern State Penitentiary and then Laurel Hill Cemetery, Beth has remained a staunch advocate of our world’s history, important public landmarks, and ensuring that all people have access to see them, learn about them, and help preserve them.

Unfortunately, Beth only had three weeks on the job with Independence Hall before the executive order was decreed, and she, along with 200,000 other federal employees, was fired without just cause, preventing her from receiving a severance and forcing her to navigate an unemployment system that is overloaded. Beth, along with her loyal furry companions Ernie and Whitby, is entering an unstable economy with no income yet on the horizon. We humbly ask for your help in keeping Beth afloat (i.e. rent and other necessary monthly expenses) while she determines her next move in the workforce.

Thank you so much for your consideration!
