Help Support Basma’s family in Gaza

Donation protected
Hey y’all. My name is James Barnes and I’m trying to raise money for my friend Basma in Gaza. She is collecting funds to buy necessities like food, water and medicine, as well as trying to evacuate from Gaza. Please give her story a read and share and donate if you can.

‏I am Basma Abu Sido from Gaza, I stand before you as a person trying to feed my family of 6 people. In addition to my married sister who has a newborn baby, we are trying to survive under miserable conditions in tents in Deir al-Balah in southern Gaza. It is difficult for me to find the words to describe what we face every day in Gaza. No food, no medicine, no clean drinking water, oppression, helplessness, psychological pressure, doubts, and daily trauma due to the loss of loved ones. In Gaza, it is not just hunger, disease, and fear; it means actual death.

‏Now‏, I find myself in this difficult situation, and I humbly and earnestly ask for your help to save the lives of my family, especially my sister’s children, by getting us out of Gaza. The situation in Gaza has become unbearable due to the slow death resulting from hunger, thirst, displacement, the spread of diseases, and the continuous bombing. ‏Since October 7th, due to the continuous bombing in Gaza, we have been displaced from our homes in Gaza City, Al-Rimal neighborhood. We have been displaced five times now, we live in a tent in Deir al-Balah with my brothers and my mother, and unfortunately under very poor humanitarian conditions. Lack of food, water, and toilets, and the weather is difficult to live in a thin plastic tent, and in every sense of the word we do not have the most basic necessities of life. ‏The past months have been full of hell and terror. This war has been going on for too long, and our mental health and our lives are constantly at risk. We have reached a stage where there is no hope anymore in Gaza, as if we are waiting for death. Even if a ceasefire is reached, the destruction in Gaza in all its forms cannot be quickly repaired.
‏We want money for the future to help us live, study and build a house. Regardless of whether the war stops, we do not have extra money for the future and to start over. Your support and standing with us will help me and my family. ‏To cross the border between Gaza and Egypt at "Rafah", our names must be on the crossing list (paid permit). The coordinators in Egypt, who are authorized to add my family's names to the list at the border, demand between 7,000 and 8,000 dollars per person! They will not add the names until we can prove that we have the money ready.

‏Unfortunately, our home was completely destroyed during a short truce. I was able to record a video of it, heartbroken to see my home destroyed, and hopeless that my family will never be able to sleep in their home.

‏Please help me get them out. Your help will go a long way in alleviating our suffering. I hope you will share my story with your family and friends.

‏I will be forever grateful for your kind assistance in this difficult time. ‏Note: Your donations help us and save us at the present time because we are not working and we do not have money. This link is the only savior through which we can provide food and drink.

‏ update ****
‏I would like to continue to update you on the situation in Gaza after several months. Today, June 3, 2024, it has been more than 25 days since the devastating attack on Rafah and more than 245 days since the war on Gaza. Our suffering, as I described on my personal Instagram page, is immeasurable. For months now we have been living in extremely difficult conditions. We have been displaced again to Khan Younis and forced to live in a destroyed house that is unfit for living, especially after the extreme fear of living in a tent after the bombing of the tents in Rafah. There is no safe place in Gaza.
‏My hope remains that the border from Gaza to Egypt in Rafah will soon be reopened. I would like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for standing by us in solidarity during this difficult time and for your positive impact on the lives of those affected. Your donations are a ray of light in this darkness and will help me "save my family and rebuild what we have lost"

‏Thank you for your support and compassion

‏Thank you again for your solidarity with us

‏Sincerely,

Basma
