Help support Baby Sonny

Sonny Carter Wheat was born on 24 March 2020

Unfortunately it was not an easy pregnancy for Georgia, at 20 weeks they were informed their baby had a rare heart condition called Truncus Arteriousus causing Sonny’s heart not to develop fully. Georgia and Ben bravely and strongly believed their baby would come out fighting, and he sure did.  

Baby Wheat was born in Southampton Children’s Hospital.  Sonny was rushed into surgery for 7 hours when he was born. The crucial first moments of their gorgeous boy, was spent praying that surgery had gone well. Amongst this due to COVID  Georgia had to remain alone in hospital whilst Ben was not allowed to visit. 

Sonny against all odds, smashed his surgery and and soon was allowed to go home and start life as a family. 

Sonny developed amazingly, he is the happiest, most gorgeous baby and a credit to both Georgia and Ben. Everything seemed perfect, however Georgia and Bens whole world came crashing down when Sonny went for a routine check up last week, to which they were told his heart pressure was not as it should be and they were advised to go back to Southampton so they could investigate this further. 

It was explained there would be a 1 percent chance of surgery. After investigations the news arose that Sonny would need emergency surgery, the most heartbreaking news any parent could receive, Sonny was days away from loosing his life.

Surgery lasted 7 hours, but amazingly went well. He is currently highly sedated and Georgia and Ben are sat beside him, all our prayers and wishes are keeping them strong. My heart aches knowing any parent has to watch there baby so unwell. 

Whilst they are so far from home, Ben is unable to work, this doesn’t take away the fact rent and bills still have to be paid as well as their daily expenses whilst they are away from home and residing in Southampton. 

With Covid no family members can even visit/travel to offer support.  I have set up this page, to offer the most support we can in this journey and help support the Wheat/Ogden family whilst they are going through this heartbreaking time. 

Everyday is a day closer to getting you all home!!!
