Help support Baby Silver Adam's upcoming liver transplant.
Donation protected
Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted individuals,
Madison and Glen are helping their sweet daughter fight a battle no child should ever have to. Sweet and beautiful baby 5 month old Silver Adams has been diagnosed with a rare liver condition, Biliary Atresia, which is a abnormal formation of bile ducts in utero. She is on the road to a liver transplant and is currently being transported to the Chidren's Hospital Colorado in Denver.
Not only is Madison dealing with the overwhelming emotional weight of this whole situation, but also the financial burden of medical bills, travel expenses, lodging, and living costs during their time away from home. This is a time where every bit of help will make an incredible difference. We have an opportunity to come together and help alleviate the financial strain so that Madison and Glen can focus solely on Sil's care and recovery. Any donation, no matter how small, will be so appreciated. If you are unable to donate, please share this page with your friends and family, keeping Silver in your thoughts and prayers. Thank you so much for generosity and love.
Here are some updates from Madison:
2/17
We expected an hour visit to her pediatrician when we packed up and hit the road on the morning of 1/16 and my girl has not been home since.
Last Thursday, we were notified that at the conclusion of her transplant evaluation here at Children’s Health in Dallas the committee’s decision was a deferral. To be discussed again in 2-4 weeks, along with that decision the med team further advised us to seek a second opinion.
They asked where we would like to go and assured they would do everything in their power to get us there since they acknowledged Sil has one of, if not the most aggressively progressive case of BA that they have collectively seen here at Children’s Health; but also, for some providers, of their career.
It hurts my heart to think this last month was waste, and I can’t let myself go there in my mind. It wasn’t a waste, she was properly diagnosed and the team here - especially her surgeons Dr. Corbitt and Dr. Louiselle - have gone above and beyond. They’ve made phone calls to other specialists they’ve encountered in their careers, they have gone off the beaten path when the one size fits all approach has not rendered positive results. And I can not direct enough thank yous their way.
The team here, myself and the transplant team at Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado have all collaborated to acquire insurance agreements/transport approval for Sil to be seen by the facility that current has the shortest wait time for pediatric liver transplant in the nation.
We are told daily that time is of the essence and it truly is, the prognosis of BA is that a child will generally live until 2 years of age with their native liver before ultimately requiring transplant. That being said, the laparoscopic procedure done on 1/23 when Silver was 4 months old displayed levels of cirrhosis of the liver that they would have expected for an undiagnosed 8 or 9 month old. Time IS of the essence.
Thank you for the love, well wishes, prayers if you pray em and the good vibes always- our family and our miracle baby need all that we can get.
She IS a miracle baby, she may not get better today but one day.
Please keep your thoughts and hearts not only with us but with the medical teams involved in her direct care AND the insurance representatives whose checks and verifications are the last step to getting Silver to the place she truly needs to be.

A week ago today Silver suffered an intestinal evisceration through her kasai incision site. If it sounds graphic to read, it was tenfold- a millionfold- more graphic to see in person.
I never thought I would have to hold in my daughter’s guts, applying steady pressure for upwards of 10 minutes while we waited for surgery team to arrive. She was tentatively scheduled to go to the operating room the very next day to address her intestinal herniation. But time and time again, Silver proves to the med teams that she works on her own schedule.
They didn’t expect her to come back on room air, and prepared me that she would likely have a breathing tube still placed after undergoing sedation. Her surgeon’s words, and I quote, were that Silver said “Hold my beer” and came out of sedation with a smile on her face.
I took these pictures yesterday and truly can’t imagine the pain and discomfort that this little body is undergoing; and yet she still persists.
She still has a smile and I am so grateful that this experience hasn’t taken that away from her. She is truly the strongest girl I know.
