Hi everyone my name is Chantelle Ali I have created this go fund me page as me and my partner have found ourselves in a tricky situation. My partner decided to surprise me with a last minute babymoon to Tenerife. I was 34 weeks pregnant and my gp and midwife said I was fit to fly I had all the relevant insurance too. I was due to fly back home on 13/07/2026 but I didn’t make this flight as I went into premature labour on 12/07/2026 at my hotel in Tenerife. Rico Ivor Major was born at 20.07 weighing 6.5 oz a really good weight for a 5 week prem baby! We both picked up an infection which left me as an inpatient and baby Rico in intensive care neonatal unit at Our Lady of Candelaria University Hospital. He needed help with his breathing and was on a feeding tube. He is improving day by day and we are so grateful for our lil solider! I’ve tried to claim on my insurance but unfortunately they are not going to help us and pay out their loop hole was I was only 5 weeks premature not 12 so this isn’t classed as an emergency! We are currently funding everything ourselves out here like accommodation, travel to and from the hospital, food and essentials. Money is running out fast we have to pay for new birth certificates to produce to the British consulate to obtain an emergency travel document to get Rico home we also have to pay for the emergency travel document . No one knows how long we are going to be out here. I’m also living out of a carrier bag as in the emergency my suitcase was left at the hotel and my travel company took it to Tenerife south airport so I’ve litrally got the clothes I’m stood in. To travel to the airport there and back is a big cost and we just can’t afford it right now hence why we have set up this page and are asking for help. We are both desperate to get back home with our lil man I have other children at home and 2 lil frenchies they are missing us like mad and they can’t wait to meet their little brother! Please donate as much as you can and help us every little helps even if it’s just £5 that’s a taxi to the hospital and will go a long long way. This is one of the most difficult things I’ve ever had to go through I suffer with my mental health and every day out here is a struggle the only thing getting me through is my baby and my partner. If Rico is discharged and ready to leave the hospital before our emergency travel document is ready we have nothing for him no clothes no car seat no pram no milk nothing! Everything is back home in the uk this is another massive worry for us. So please please donate if you can’t donate please please share our story ❤️
