Olivia Forsling was born on September 1st with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome, a rare congenital heart defect where the right side of the heart is underdeveloped, specifically her right right ventricle. Her parents, Becca and Jake, and big brother Kason first learned about her condition during the 20-week prenatal appointment.

Immediately after birth, Olivia was admitted to the NICU at the University of Utah and then transferred to the Cardiac ICU at Primary Children’s Hospital. Within just days of life, she underwent her first procedure. After a week in the hospital, she was finally able to come home.

Unfortunately, on September 29th, Olivia was readmitted due to severe valve leakage on the left side of her heart. She is now undergoing exploratory tests and possibly procedures so her medical team can determine the best next steps to support her heart. In the coming year Olivia will need to have an open heart surgery as well.

As you can imagine, the medical bills from ongoing hospital stays and procedures are overwhelming. This fundraiser is to help Becca and Jake focus fully on caring for baby Olivia and Kason without the constant worry of mounting financial stress!
