Hello Family and Friends -- This is Michelle, Tyler's mom. I asked Tyler and Mariah to share a bit of their story here and what this GofundMe is all about. Here are their words ~

Hi friends and family. Just wanted to share a life update as we bring another baby into the world.

At our routine 20 week ultrasound, they found something concerning with our baby girl’s heart. After many doctors visits she was diagnosed with Hypoplastic Right Heart Syndrome. This is a significant Congenital Heart Defect in which the right side of her heart is severely underdeveloped. This rare defect will result in 3 open heart surgeries over her first 2-3 years. The first taking place in her first week of life and the second about 3 to 6 months later. She will most likely remain in the hospital between those first two surgeries as it is the riskiest time for these babies. She will undergo a lifetime of medical challenges, but the doctors are hopeful that after the third surgery, she will be able to live a (mostly) normal life.

Because of her many needs, we will deliver in Pittsburgh where she will soon after be admitted to the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. This hospital specializes in Pediatric Cardiology and we are so thankful for all that they will do for our little girl.

We are asking for prayers for our little girl and the rest of our family as we make this big transition. Michelle and many of our family members have encouraged us to share our story for those of you who are hoping to help in a tangible way.

Mariah will not be able to work during this time which will take us from two salaries to one until the following school year. Our doctors also recommend that we move out to Pittsburgh in early January, ahead of time in case the baby comes early. That means we will need to rent a place in Pittsburgh for our family before baby girl is born. Ourselves, Luke, and family members will stay there as we await our daughter's arrival, and our family will be able to stay there to help with Luke & our care in the week following delivery. We are thankful to have qualified for the Ronald McDonald house and will live there for the following months which will cost about $20 a night. We are expecting to live there from the time our daughter in born through May.

We are thankful for our community who has already surrounded us with so much love and support. We know there will be many challenges ahead, but we know that God will provide and show his love and mercy through it all.
