If you know Jess and Chelis, you know they are the last people to ever ask for help. They are the ones quietly showing up for others, giving their time, energy, and love without expecting anything in return.
Now it’s our turn to show up for them.
Their baby boy, Khalil, has been in the NICU since the day he was born on November 19th. He was transferred to Valley Children’s on Thanksgiving, where he’s remained ever since.
Khalil needed heart surgery to save his life, and while the surgery was successful, he has faced several major challenges and setbacks afterward. Through it all, he continues to fight with an incredible spirit — their little warrior, their pequeño warrior.
Out of respect for the Fabila family, we are keeping most of the medical details private. What we can share is that Jess and Chelis have been essentially living at the hospital since his birth, away from home and any sense of normalcy, so they can be by his side every day.
Along with the emotional toll, the financial burden is growing substantially:
- Ongoing and unexpected medical bills
- Time away from work so they can remain with Khalil
- Extra living expenses while staying at the hospital and away from home
Jess and Chelis would never ask for this themselves, which is why this page exists. As their community, we want to rally around them so they can focus on what matters most: loving and supporting their son, not the mounting costs.
Any amount you are able to give will make a real difference. If you’re not able to donate, sharing this fundraiser and keeping the Fabila family in your thoughts and prayers is deeply appreciated.
Thank you for surrounding this beautiful family with love and support as their sweet pea continues to fight.
