Help Support Baby Julia

**This GoFundMe was created on the evening of Oct. 6th & was awaiting minor edits from Casey (mother) before posting. Those edits may be made eventually but for now it is as up-to-date as the editor (Whitney) has information of.**

Julia Rose was born on September 10th, 2022 at 35 weeks. At 3 weeks old she caught RSV. Her mother, Casey, took her to the ER on Monday, October 3rd to have her checked out and after sitting there for 9 hours they were told that she wasn't yet "sick enough" to stay because she didn't have a temperature over 100.4 and her breathing wasn't labored & they were told that within the next 24-48 hours she would likely be sick enough and need to come back. The next day Casey took Julia to their pediatrician to get a good suction of her nose and to have her stats checked & at that time everything looked and sounded fine. Her chest sounded clear & her stats were normal. They returned home and continued suctioning her nose to give her breathing relief. Throughout the evening, Julia's breathing became more labored and she kept holding her breath whenever Casey and father Kevin administered saline to break up the mucus in her nose before suctioning. They had been told at the ER that if she stopped breathing for more than 15 seconds that she needed to go back to the hospital, but she always timed out at 10 seconds and went back to normal. Casey & Kevin took turns staying awake with Julia throughout the night to make sure that she was ok and in the morning Casey took Julia back to the pediatrician to have her nose suctioned again and her stats rechecked. Casey told the doctor that Julia had been holding her breath throughout the night but that she never made it to the 15-second limit so the doctor attempted to do a breath count on her. At that time Julia stopped breathing and turned ashy-colored and the doctor immediately called for an ambulance to have her taken to the hospital.

Once they arrived at Huntsville Hospital for Women & Children around 10am on October 5th, Julia was still unable to breathe on her own so she was put on a ventilator where she remains today. Within 19 hours she had gone from a clear lung check at the doctor to her lungs being so full of mucus that she couldn't breathe for herself.

As of today, October 6, Baby Julia is in very bad shape. They have not been able to keep her stats stable since she arrived. Other than being hooked up to the ventilator, she has lines in her stomach and sinuses to drain them, multiple IVs, and is regularly getting saline/percussion/suction treatments to try to get mucus/fluid out her lungs. The ventilator is 100% breathing for her and she’s getting all nutrients via IV. X-Rays show that her left lung is completely full and her right lung also has some mucus buildup & they are having a hard time getting much out of them. She has been given medication to paralyze her so that her body can get as much rest as it can to fight off the infection. At this time she is battling RSV (both bacterial & viral) as well as pneumonia. She received a spinal tap this afternoon and they are awaiting those results currently.

***Update as of October 7th at 9:03am***

Sweet Julia passed away this morning around 7am. Her body was not strong enough to fight off the infections plaguing her body. More updates will be given and this page may be edited once Casey is able to give some input on details.

At this time we are asking for help in supporting Baby Julia and her family by easing the burden of medical costs & now funeral expenses. Please help out if you can & keep Baby Julia and the Albarado family in your thoughts.
