Hi, my name is Zoe, and I’m sharing our story in hope of some support for our beautiful daughter, Evelyn.

Our pregnancy journey was anything but easy. From the beginning, I was classified as high risk due to complications in my first pregnancy—my son was born at 37.5 weeks, via emergency csection and diagnosed with IUGR (intrauterine growth restriction). Blacktown Hospital were fully aware of my high-risk status, yet my care was neglected. They delayed booking crucial appointments and follow-ups until 22 weeks into my pregnancy.

At that 22-week appointment, despite my concerns, I was told there would be no scans until 26 weeks. By the time I finally had my scan, I was devastated to hear that my baby had stopped growing. I was rushed to the hospital and transferred via ambulance to Westmead, where I gave birth to Evelyn at just 28 weeks. She weighed only 480 grams—smaller than a loaf of bread.

Evelyn spent many long days in the NICU fighting for her life. She is our miracle, but her journey hasn’t been easy. She continues to face a long list of medical challenges, including:

Extreme prematurity (born at 28 weeks, 480g micropreemie)

Intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR)

Chronic lung disease of prematurity (CLD/BPD)

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) – requiring CPAP

Laryngomalacia

Severe gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD)

Feeding difficulties (requiring NG tube)

Poor weight gain / failure to thrive

Aspiration risk

Anemia of prematurity

Osteopenia of prematurity

Evelyn requires ongoing specialist appointments, treatments, medical equipment, and daily care. The costs are overwhelming—syringes, NG tube supplies, CPAP equipment, medications, hospital visits, and higher household bills to keep her comfortable and safe.

We are doing everything we can to give Evelyn the best chance at a healthy, happy life, but we can’t do it alone. Any donation, no matter how small, will go directly to supporting her medical needs and easing the financial strain on our family.
