Help Support Baby Elise's Medical Bills

Hi, I am setting up this fundraiser for my cousin Leo and his girlfriend Yoselin. They welcomed their first child together, a beautiful baby girl on Monday September 25, 2023. Elise was born 3 weeks early at 5.5 lbs. and 18" long. Shortly after birth, she was showing signs of a heart condition, breathing condition and stomach infection. This was devastating news to Leo & Yoselin, as well as the family. After consultation with a cardiologist, the decision was made to med flight her to a children’s hospital with the capability to run further testing. It was soon found that Elise has VSD-Ventricular Septal Defect (a birth defect of the heart in which there is a hole in the wall (septum) that separates the two lower chambers (ventricles) of the heart) as well as PFO-Patent Foramen Ovale (a hole between the left and right atria (upper chambers) of the heart). Upon further testing, it was also found that Elise has a rare condition called Pulmonary Atresia (a defect in which the pulmonary valve, which connects the right ventricle to the pulmonary artery, doesn’t form at all. This keeps the blood from flowing to a child’s heart). Elise’s right pulmonary artery is not attached to her right lung, it is attached to her aorta. If this is left as is, she is at high risk of losing her right lung. The cardiologist has recommended stage repair surgery. This consists of a small surgery now to place a stent in the duct where the right pulmonary artery is supposed to be to allow the artery to grow and get stronger. They are also going to have to use a blood vessel from her arm to attach to the right pulmonary artery to help supply blood flow to her right lung. Between 9 and 12 months old, when she is strong enough and the artery is large enough, Elise will have surgery to reattach her right pulmonary artery to her right lung. This beautiful baby girl has a long road of surgeries and recovery ahead of her. On behalf of myself and our family we ask for your help in supporting Leo & Yoselin with the financial burden to come. No support is too little for this precious little girl and her parents. We understand a donation may not be feasible, but please just send love and prayers their way. Thank you and we wish you well.
