Help support Baby Eden, mommy, and daddy!

Little Eden Vér graced her parents with her presence on April 6th (her daddy’s birthday!). Kayla did everything by the book her entire pregnancy (and probably more than most pregnant women) to ensure a safe and healthy pregnancy and baby. All of her prenatal appointments and ultrasounds showed a perfectly healthy baby! After laboring for 20 hours at home, Kayla and Viktor decided it was time to head to the hospital so off they went! Shortly after arriving, they unfortunately discovered Eden was under distress and was showing decelerations during contractions. Twenty-two hours and many scares later, Eden arrived and right away the doctors noticed she was having trouble breathing so she was rushed to the special nursery for oxygen. At first they thought there was something wrong with her lungs which was causing her to not get enough oxygen. They did testing only to come back and say, “her lungs are fine, but she has a very enlarged heart.” Coming from a pregnancy that showed a perfectly healthy baby, hearing this news came as a punch in the stomach to new parents that were expecting to bring their bundle of joy home. Kayla and Viktor only had a few hours to look at their baby and hold her hand before she was taken to Albany Med. After the cardiologist was able to examine Eden, they learned that she has a very rare heart condition called Ebstein’s Anomaly of the Tricuspid Valve which causes her blood to not flow forward as it should to carry oxygen to the rest of her body. Eden is still in the NICU as they are waiting to see how her body strengthens and how her body handles this condition. As of now, she is off oxygen which is a huge step for her! We know Eden is a strong little girl already and God has a plan in place for her to do wonders!

Kayla and Viktor are currently staying in Albany to be close to Eden which means Viktor has not been able to work since Wednesday the 3rd. I set this up because we know how expensive it is to have a newborn in the NICU and not having a parent be able to work while still having everyday bills due. It’s stressful and that’s not something that Kayla and Viktor should be thinking about right now. Their only thoughts should be on the progress of their beautiful baby girl and getting rest. We appreciate any donations that can be made to the Vér family to help them alleviate their financial costs.
