Help Support A’zayLiah After the Loss of Her Mom & Grandma

Where do I even begin? My heart is shattered as I share the unimaginable loss our family has endured. My younger sister, Cicilie, and our mother, Shanna, both passed away unexpectedly within hours of each other, leaving behind our precious 8-year-old A’zayLiah, who now faces life without her mother and grandmother.

Cicilie was a strong, loving, and devoted single mother who worked tirelessly to provide for her daughter. She fought hard through her recent health struggles, spending three weeks in the hospital before being diagnosed with liver disease. She was discharged on February 20th, and we were hopeful that she was on the path to recovery.

Our mom, Shanna, was the kindest, most selfless person, always putting others before herself. She had been battling ongoing health issues and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and small cell lung cancer in early February. After being in and out of the hospital for weeks, she was admitted again on March 2nd, where she developed sepsis and COVID. On March 5th, doctors placed her in a medically induced coma, and by that evening, she passed away.

Cicilie and our youngest sister, Kloey, rushed to the hospital to say their final goodbyes, but heartbreakingly, they arrived too late. When they returned home, Cicilie suddenly became unwell. Kloey thought she was having an asthma attack, but within moments, she collapsed. Kloey performed CPR until paramedics arrived, but despite every effort at the hospital, she passed just four and a half hours after our mother. We are still searching for answers, but nothing can change the devastating reality we now face.

Now, our focus is on A’zayLiah. Our sweet, innocent little girl has lost the two people who loved her most in this world. Her biggest sources of love and support.

We are committed to giving her the stability, love, and support she needs to heal and move forward, but we need your help.
