SUMMER Internship overseas!
This year, I’ve been awarded an overseas internship with the Friends of the Mariana Trench, an incredible organization based in Micronesia that focuses on marine conservation, restoration, and building up related ecosystems and relying communities. I am working to raise funds to make this dream a reality!
UPDATE 5/4: I am still needing to raise $4,875 for transportation to and from the office and volunteer sites, as well as basic necessities, after my stipend has already been accounted for.
Over the summer, I’ll be working as a valuable team member, contributing to this mission by driving marine conservation and advocacy efforts – applying my public policy major, STEM coursework through my double major in geospatial data science, minor in sustainability, and my lifelong passion for protecting our oceans!
Internship award: The internship includes 15 paid hours/per week.
I will use the rest of my time volunteering with local organizations that focus on marine conservation, especially coral reef research and restoration—something I am deeply passionate about.
To help make this dream a reality, I’m asking friends and family to consider contributing to help me pay for expenses.
Direct costs of internship: $5,300
I’m currently budgeting a total of $5,300 for transportation + food + basic necessities on island, after my weekly stipend is already accounted for. I’m still actively fundraising to meet this goal! And,
UPDATE 5/3: A sincere THANK YOU to everyone who has helped me in my journey so far! Thanks to your generosity, I’ve been able to raise $2,000 and successfully purchase my airfare. I’ll be departing at the end of May, and I am overjoyed and so blessed to have all of your support to pursue this special opportunity.
Thank you so much for reading and for supporting my journey in any way you can!
