Hello!

My name is Ashton, in October 2024 I was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer called Uveal Melanoma (Cancer of the Eye).

The long-term prognosis of Uveal Melanoma is poor, with metastasis occurring in more than 50% of cases. Uveal Melanoma varies, with some cases being slow-growing and localised, while others can metastasise to other parts of the body, particularly the liver (stage 4).

Since my diagnosis I have been on a clinical trial (medication) which has stabilised my tumour. The trial ends in October and the preceding treatment is radiation (Brachytherapy). It is a localised radiation that comes with risks of vision loss, and difficulty in effectively preventing the recurrence of the disease or its metastasis.

I have been researching supportive therapies to help potentially mitigate these risks. I have found an incredible doctor in Melbourne who is a highly accomplished senior scientist and integrative medicine naturopath. Her focus is in herbal medicine, nutrition and oncology support. Alongside conventional treatment, we would implement a protocol that aims to inhibit cancer's metabolic pathways, that weaken and kill the cancer stem cells.

This is done by using off patent drugs, supplements, diet and exercise specific to Uveal Melanoma. It has had incredible success around the world for all different types of cancer and I believe this approach is at the forefront of cancer research.

The funds raised would be used for ongoing treatment with Dr. Rasouli in Melbourne including appointment fees, tests, prescription drugs, supplements, and supportive therapies.
