Help Support Ashley’s Upcoming Open Heart Surgery
Donation protected
Ashley Sinclair is a beacon of positivity despite facing numerous health challenges. She is a devoted wife to Scott and a proud mother to her 21-year-old son, Dylan. You would never know by looking at her, all that she’s endured because she always has a big smile on her face. Ashley suffers from Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which has led to over 50 surgeries. She also battles Rheumatoid Arthritis, Heart Failure, and an Immune Deficiency requiring weekly infusions—yet she still doesn’t let it get her down because she is a FIGHTER.
The surgeons have determined that the safest approach is to perform three heart surgeries instead of one extensive procedure. The first surgery will involve removing and replacing the pacemaker. The second surgery will be a major open-heart procedure, during which Ashley's heart will be put on bypass for several hours to repair and reconstruct the superior vena cava (SVC). Finally, the third surgery will focus on reconstructing the chest wall and making necessary corrections to enhance her heart and lung function. This staged approach aims to minimize risks and promote a smoother recovery process.
Your donation, no matter the amount, will help Ashley and her family through this difficult time.
Ashley’s heart health has declined over the past decade, leading to severe symptoms such as shortness of breath, and 50 pounds of fluid retention causing swelling in her face, arms, and upper body. As a former paramedic, Ashley knew something was wrong as her quality of life decreased daily. Despite her efforts and initial normal tests, her condition remained undiagnosed until March 3rd, when a trip to the ER revealed she has SVC syndrome.
This rare condition is caused by scar tissue surrounding her pacemaker wires, which obstructs the Superior Vena Cava—the major vein in the body—blocking blood flow to her heart.
We’ve created this GoFundMe page to help Ashley focus on healing without financial stress. She will face numerous doctor appointments, a long hospital stay, and 12 weeks of cardiac rehabilitation, among other medical needs. Ashley will need a few more procedures after she recovers from this heart surgery.
The Sinclair family needs assistance with:
* Out-of-pocket medical costs (hospital, doctor visits, physical therapy, and surgeon fees)
* Gas and food expenses
* Lost income from Scott and Dylan missing work
We deeply appreciate any prayers and contributions. Please share our fundraiser with your friends, family, and social networks. Thank you for your support.
