Help support Ashley Abrams and her family

Ashley suffered some serious injuries on Saturday. She has been at ECMC on the burn unit with second and third degree burns on her back, shoulders, neck and right arm. She also has some minor first degree burns on her face. She is currently waiting for some of her wounds to heal so they can decide on skin grafting surgery for the deeper ones.

 

Unfortunately with grease burns, the burns continue to develop for up to a week after the incident has taken place -- meaning that they are unable to do much until the burn has run its course. She receives wound care twice a day which involves scraping all the pus and dead dry skin off the wounds to prevent infection. She's expected to be in the hospital for awhile, and when she returns home will need a nurse to care for her wounds. As well as rehabilitation to re-gain full use and strength of all areas affected.

 

The recovery is immensely difficult and Ashley is in insurmountable pain.
