Hi, we (a group of friends) are hoping to raise funds for our good friends Micha & Phil and their 4 young kids, who are going through an awful time at the moment.

Their son Archie, age 10, has always been a very active child but 2 months ago he developed a cough that just wouldn’t shift. At first, the doctor thought he had asthma but medication didn’t help. Then Archie became more ill and very lethargic. His mum, Micha, knew something wasn’t right so took him back to the dr who still insisted it was asthma, but mother’s intuition told Micha that something wasn’t right and she pushed for blood tests.

Archie had blood tests that day and when the results came back the doctor told Micha the words that no parent should ever have to hear, “Your son has cancer.”

Archie has Hodgkin lymphoma and has had to start chemotherapy immediately. His mum Micha has needed to be with him in hospital so Dad (Phil) has been unable to go to work as he has needed to look after Archie’s siblings Heidi (1), Sadie (3) and Sophie (15). As Phil is self-employed this means he isn’t earning a wage currently. Phil and Micha now share hospital duties so that Micha can work in her job as much as possible, but this has meant she cannot always work full-time and her wages are less than usual.

They’re applying for financial support but have already been told there is a 4-month wait to process this. In short, this lovely family are going through every parent’s worst nightmare and on top of that are worried that they can’t afford to pay their rent and essential bills.
