Help support Anthony regain function with a new hand

My name is Katina. My brother in law is Anthony Boddy we are from upstate Ny The capital district area. Yesterday, July 4th, we were enjoying a family cookout at my brother-in-law's house. As everyone knows, people light off a lot of fireworks on this holiday. As the fireworks started around the neighborhood, we all went out front to watch with the kids. Everything was fine, we were having a great time when a car passed by and threw what we thought was a regular firework out the car. It landed towards the kids, so my brother-in-law just reacted because of the kids and tried to get the firework away from them. It went off and as the smoke cleared, we noticed his entire left hand was gone. We learned at that moment it was a stick of mortar.

He was rushed to the hospital where they had to amputate 15cm up from his wrist, luckily saving his nerves so he still feels that his hand is "there". The doctor said by saving the nerves he would be able to get a mechanical prosthetic hand. He's been working in construction and mechanics his whole life. He is a father, husband, and the sole provider for his family. We're putting this up in hopes to cover whatever Medicaid doesn't cover for his prosthetic hand. We're all feeling a bunch of emotions and can only imagine what he's feeling. We just want him to be able to use both his hands again. We appreciate and love any support in any type of way; donations, sharing this, spreading the word about how dangerous some fireworks can be. About Anthony Boddy: He is a very hands-on, busy person who likes to build things, take things apart, and spends a lot of his spare time working on his cars/motorcycle, showing his son and daughter what he enjoys and what he likes to do. He is always outside either working on the bike/car, building something, playing with the kids and dogs. He is a loving person with a big heart, outgoing personality. He's faced many battles throughout his life but still has remained positive to this day. He enjoys swimming and riding jet skis. He's not your typical indoor relaxed type of person, he is always doing something.
