On Monday, our amazing mom, Anna, suffered a terrible fall that resulted in a trimalleolar fracture with dislocation of her ankle — a severe injury affecting multiple bones. She has already undergone one surgery to place an external fixation device to hold the bones in place and will need a second surgery in the coming weeks to insert plates and screws for internal fixation.

This has been an incredibly painful and difficult experience for her. She’s now unable to walk or work for an extended period as she faces surgery, recovery, and physical therapy ahead.

As many of you know, my mom is the proud owner of Snip & Trim Hair Studio, a salon she built from the ground up with love, hard work, and devotion. Her clients are truly like family — she’s poured her heart into every haircut, every conversation, and every person who’s sat in her chair.

Because she’s self-employed, she doesn’t have paid time off or disability benefits. Being unable to work means she’s facing not only medical bills, but also the challenge of covering her regular expenses and keeping her salon going while she heals.
