Last week, our world was turned upside down when our son Andres was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome, a rare and serious condition where the body's immune system attacks the nerves. Due to the rapid progression of his symptoms, he had to be airlifted from our local hospital to Children’s Hospital in Plano for immediate and specialized care.
Andres is currently intubated and on a ventilator, as the muscle weakness from GBS has made it impossible for him to breathe on his own. While we are grateful to hear that he has a chance at recovery, we’ve been told it will be a long road, involving extensive physical therapy and support as his body works to heal the damaged nerves.
This diagnosis was completely unexpected and has brought on a financial and emotional burden for our family. We are doing our best to juggle travel back and forth to the hospital, manage work responsibilities, and care for our other children during this difficult time.
We are humbly asking for help to cover:
- Travel expenses to and from the hospital so that we can be with him
- Assistance with Andres' ongoing medical and care needs
- Support for our family during this extended hospital stay, which is estimated to last another two to three weeks at least.
If you are able to donate, share, or keep Andres in your prayers, we would be deeply thankful. Your kindness and support mean the world to us, and we truly believe it is helping us carry this heavy load.
Thank you for standing with our family and supporting Andres on his journey towards healing. if unable to donate we simply ask you to keep Andres and our family in your prayers, and positive energy sent our way.
With gratitude,
-The Molinas
