Help support renal surgery for McKayla

Hello everyone! Please consider donating – any amount helps. Prayers are always appreciated as well. McKayla is a 15 year old girl who has had a rough road with her kidney function. She was sent to the Emergency Room Saturday, September 7 with intense, acute pain and blood in her urine. She was transported via ambulance to Cook Children’s Medical Center for admission. After intense testing, it was discovered that she has a blocked ureter – the tube that allows urine to pass from your kidneys to the bladder. This condition is called acute unilateral obstructive uropathy. The most common cause for this condition is kidney stones, however scarring and clots can also attribute. Symptoms are nausea, vomiting, high blood pressure and acute severe pain. Long term effects for severe cases can lead to permanent kidney damage. This is where we need your help. McKayla underwent surgery on Sunday, September 8 to place a stent to attempt and relieve the blockage. This is a temporary fix as the stent has to be removed. The permanent surgery isn’t covered by her medical insurance as they will only approve it as ‘medically necessary’ once she is in kidney failure. We are attempting to raise as much funds as we can to assist Casey to be able to afford the procedure before her sweet McKayla gets any more ill.
