Hii! It's Amy. I want to record my first full-length album with collaborators and in a studio!! I love songwriting, and I love collaboration. For the past few years, I've been writing songs that I'm now ready to record. Writing songs and bringing them to musicians I trust is one of my greatest joys, and being in recording studios gives me a "home-away-from-home" feeling. My first EP I released in 2020, which I made with my brother in our childhood home. Since then, I've released a few singles, but I've always wanted to record my songs with people live in a studio. That is my vision for this collection of songs. My single "Assumptions" is a perfect example of the sound I am going for. By collaborating with other musicians, I find that the music we make together goes beyond what I've heard in my own brain. For instance, there is a piano part in "Assumptions" that was played by someone else, that now feels like part of the song's identity to me! My songs have themes of hope, honesty, and self-reflection. In "Assumptions" you'll hear stacked background vocals that will be part of this album's sound as well. On my website, under the "Songwriting" tab, I have "songs in process" where you can hear some of the songs that will be included on the album. All this to say, I want to be able to pay my collaborators for their work, pay for the studio time, and market the album as well. Hence this GoFundMe!
