Covid-19 has disrupted our everyday lives and has tremendously affected some more than others during this scary time. The shocking truth is you always here of stories like this but never imagined it would happen to you. My grandma, Amelia (Molly) Vazquez, is one of the many victims to be affected by COVID-19.
Towards the end of May, Amelia began feeling sick with what she assumed to be a stomach flu, or even food poisoning. After some time, my family noticed she was not getting better and she was starting to get weak. We decided to admit her to the hospital where we found out she was positive for COVID-19. She has been in the ICU since May 28, 2020. Her health fluctuates, but we are trying to take this day by day.
Amelia is a mother of four, grandma of six, a great grandma of one, a friend, and a hard worker. She spends majority of the last 13yrs working at Haven of sandpointe, and she has been working there for too many years (since back when it was PalmView). Even went in on her days off, numerous amounts of holidays, and never hesitated working overtime.
At this time, everyone is asking: what can we do to help? We truly just want your love and support because to be honest we are not okay. We created this GoFundMe as a way to help minimize stress, ease additional responsibilities, and support future needs for whichever way God decides. No amount is too small. We all know, Amelia would never ask herself, but also would not blink an eye to help a stranger off the street.
Thank you in advance for your generosity during this difficult time.
