Support Amanda and kids after Cory's tragic loss
Donazione protetta
My name is Ginny, and I can't believe that I am writing this. My brother-in-law, Cory Michie, passed away on Sunday, July 13th, doing what he loved, riding his bicycle. He was only 38 years old and is survived by his wife, Amanda, and his four children - Camden (13) Carter (12) Ayla (10) Arin (8).
Cory, a navy veteran who loved cycling, traveling, anime, gaming, music, and raising his family, was so full of love and life that they very thought of him not being here is absolutely unreal. But he had many friends and many communities, and we are reaching out to those communities now to help.
The coming months are not going to be easy for Amanda and the children as they navigate a world without Cory. This death came from out of left field and there was absolutely no preparation. Amanda is a teacher who is in the middle of earning Ed.D. in curriculum and instruction with a focus on special education, and now the entire burden of child rearing and breadwinner will fall on her. We want to set them up with funds so that Amanda does not have to worry about things like the mortgage, paying for bills, or keeping the car and house in order. We want her to have resources for groceries and when needed, the luxury to order food if it is necessary in order to be more present. We want her to not worry about taking time off, whether it to be to take her daughter Ayla to a doctor appointment for her epileptic seizures, or because one of the kids has a fever and needs care. We want her to be able to take them to places to have fun, live, and learn, as their father always did.
ANY donation, big or small, is welcome and accepted with love. Thank you for helping us shoulder the burden of this loss, and providing this family with all the love and comfort they deserve.
