Dear friends and family,
I’m reaching out to share the difficult journey that Alyssa has been on since January 9th when she was flown to Edmonton with a serious diagnosis of pneumonia and influenza A. After an intense battle, she was intubated on January 16th, and it has been a long, challenging road filled with uncertainty and struggle.
We are grateful to share that on February 24th, Alyssa's tube was removed, and she was placed on BiPAP. This is a significant step in her recovery, and we are hopeful she will be home within the next week or two.
Throughout this time, Jayme has been by Alyssa’s side every step of the way, providing unwavering support. However, this has meant that Jayme has had to take time off work, leading to additional financial strain on their family.
As Alyssa prepares to come home, there is essential medical equipment that she will need that is unfortunately not covered by insurance. We hope to alleviate some of the financial burden they have encountered during this challenging time.
We kindly ask for your support. Any contribution, no matter how small, would be greatly appreciated and would help Jayme and Alyssa focus on healing and recovery rather than financial stress. If anyone would rather support Jayme direct please reach out for her email address.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your support and for keeping Alyssa in your thoughts and prayers.
With gratitude,
Organizer and beneficiary
