Help Support Alsa's Asylum Claim

Donation protected
We have started this appeal to raise the money we need to retain a solicitor to help Alsa, a trainee security consultant, appeal against her denied asylum claim.

Alsa is from Iran, she came over to the UK from Malaysia to do a PhD researching AI and malware detection in 2016. As a result, the Iranian Government refused her entry back into the country on the grounds that the nature of her research about Advanced Persistent Threat was “too similar” to that used by the Iranian government. In short they are accusing her of being a spy.

The Iranian Government has the power and intention to arrest anyone associated with sensitive scientific academic research. This means Alsa has lost contact with her friends and family back home as they are scared that there will be repercussions for them if they contact her.

Now we, Alsa's adopted family and friends in the UK, are reaching out for help to support her. To be arrested for security research is a fear we as a community are all too well aware of. To loose your liberty, as a result, has been a reality for some. To loose your home, your family, your friends is cruel.

If Alsa looses her appeal for asylum, she will be deported back to a country that is not safe for her and arrested. We need to raise £2,000 to secure a decent solicitor to help us fight this. If we can raise more it will go to supporting her ongoing legal fees. If you can give something, even a small amount, it would be a massive help.

Thank you.
