My name is Ashley, and I’m starting this fundraiser to help my son Owen, my daughter-in-law Alondra, and their baby girl Adelina during a very challenging time for their young family.
Owen is proudly serving in the United States Air Force, and he and his wife Alondra recently welcomed their beautiful daughter, Adelina. Shortly after becoming new parents, their lives were turned upside down when Alondra was diagnosed with cancer.
Alondra is currently receiving weekly chemotherapy treatments at Stanford Hospital, which is about a 4 hour drive from where they are staying with family in California. Every week they make the long trip back and forth for treatment, and sometimes they need to stay overnight in a hotel depending on appointment times and how Alondra is feeling after chemo.
Thankfully, The treatments are working, which we are incredibly grateful for, but they are taking a little longer than originally expected. She will need at least another month of chemotherapy followed by 4–6 weeks of weekly follow-up appointments at Stanford to monitor her recovery.
With gas prices currently around $5 a gallon, the cost of driving 8 hours round trip each week, plus occasional hotel stays and daily expenses, is adding up quickly.
Any donations will go toward:
• Gas for the weekly trips to Stanford
• Hotel stays when overnight visits are needed
• Basic expenses while they focus on treatment and caring for baby Adelina
• Helping them travel back to their duty station in New Mexico once treatment is complete
• Return flights to CA for future appointments.
Owen and Alondra are incredibly strong and positive despite everything they’re facing. They are doing everything they can to focus on Alondra’s healing and being the best parents they can be to Adelina.
If you’re able to donate or even just share this fundraiser, it would mean the world to our family. Your support will help relieve some of the financial stress so they can focus on what matters most
— Alondra’s recovery and their little family.
Thank you so much for your kindness, prayers, and support.
