Update as of 11/9/2025: Alicia has received a heart!!!!!

On October 25th, Alicia's world changed forever. She suffered a massive heart attack, which led to multiple emergency surgeries and a long, uncertain road ahead.

Alicia first received care at Cumberland Medical Center, where doctors worked quickly to stabilize her. She was then transferred to Parkwest Medical Center for further specialized treatment, and now she’s been moved to St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville as her medical team discusses the next steps — including the possibility of a heart transplant.

Alicia’s condition is extremely serious. A portion of her heart has been permanently damaged and no longer functions, leaving her doctors to explore every possible path forward. She is currently on ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) — a life-support treatment that temporarily takes over the work of the heart and lungs, allowing her body the critical time it needs to rest and heal.

Through all of this, Alicia’s family has remained faithfully by her side, supporting her with strength and love every step of the way. As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll of such a long hospitalization and ongoing care is overwhelming. There will be continuing expenses for travel, lodging, and daily needs while Alicia remains hospitalized.

Alicia is a devoted mom and a dedicated nurse at Johnson Family Medical, known for her compassion, kindness, and the way she’s always gone above and beyond to care for her patients and loved ones. Now, she needs that same care and support in return.
