As some of you may know, Lexy has been in the hospital for the last week and I’ve had an overwhelming amount of messages from people concerned for her and asking to how they can help.
Back on February 28th Lexy took a test and found out she was pregnant. On March 3rd, she fell down the stairs and by the next day was bleeding. She went to the emergency room and was told she was having a miscarriage. On May 21st she was suffering from extreme abdominal pain and went back to the emergency room and found out she never actually miscarried and was, in fact, 17 weeks pregnant with a healthy little boy. she was told she would be high risk due to placenta accreta, which is a condition that the placenta grows too deep into the uterine wall. On June 9th, Lexy was again suffering from abdominal pain, but this time was so severe she could hardly walk and ended up back at the hospital. A CT scan revealed that she had internal bleeding from a ruptured uterus. At this point, she had to have life saving emergency surgery with it resulting in a hysterectomy where they could only save one ovary. She lost 13 liters of blood, but thankfully the doctors were able to save my best friends life. Unfortunately, due to being extremely premature, her baby boy passed away at 20 weeks. Post surgery she was placed in the icu to recover from surgery, respiratory failure, and hemorrhagic shock. The following day they were able to take her off the ventilator and move her out of the icu. A few days later she had to have a minimal invasive surgery to repair one of her kidneys. She is currently still at the hospital with no word of being discharged.
As most of you know, she’s self employed and unfortunately does not have insurance at this time, and her fiancé has taken off work to grieve and help care for Lexy while she recovers. I’m hoping this go fund me will help relieve some of the added stress of bills as her and her fiancé, Trevor, grieve the loss of their baby boy.
