Hi everyone! My name’s Alex and while some of you know me, some of you may not. Back in college I had the pleasure of working with an amazing group of people, growing friendships and coming out of a shell that I hid myself in for years. That group of people was called Collegiate DECA and it lead me to meeting some people that I probably would never have become friends with outside of the doors of the marketing class we met in every Tuesday at 11:30am. In my final year at FVTC for my Marketing degree, I was President of the group and I had even more pleasure of getting to meet Alexa and be able to help her grow and find herself. To this day, years later, Alexa and I still talk and from afar, she’s literally one of my little sisters in a way.
Recently though, we all found out some news that no one wants to hear that their sister, daughter, mother, or cousin is going through. Alexa is all those things. Most importantly though, she’s a loving mom to an amazing little girl, and this news has rocked their entire world and more.
Alexa has been battling serious health issues for over 3 months now. Her symptoms range from severe head pains that debilitate her, nausea and weight loss, excessive sleeping, vertigo, numbness of hands, feet & face, as well as daily fevers.
Alexa recently found out she has a brain tumor on her brain stem & inner auditory canal.
There have been multiple appointments with several specialists and doctors at different facilities. The doctors are 99% sure the tumor is a Vestibular Schwannoma.
That is (normally) a benign tumor that affects the persons balance, hearing loss, face muscle loss, head pain, fatigue & more.
Due to how sick she has been, Alexa was terminated from her job and has not yet found work, which means she has no income for medical expenses, living expenses & raising her daughter.
At this time, Alexa is in need of a second opinion at Froedtert Hospital. They are requiring $2,000 up front before they are willing to see her.
Currently, her appointment is scheduled for September 29th. We are hoping to help get Alexa and her family the funds they need to proceed with her appointment and further treatments.
Any little bit helps, even just passing the word and sharing this fundraiser. So please, share, repost. Help us spread the word for Alexa and Amara and the rest of her family too ❤️
