Help Support Al DiTullio's Recovery

My name is Filipe, and I’m a U.S. Air Force Airman. On July 18th, 2024, my stepdad, Al DiTullio, came home from work, planning to walk the dog. But before he could, he suddenly collapsed from a cardiac event. My mom, Cirlene, was the only one home at the time. She immediately called 911 and, with the help of the operator, started CPR. Within ten minutes, the medical team and police arrived and fought hard to save Al's life. He had no pulse, and the lack of oxygen caused some brain injury.

That day was pure chaos for our family. I was on duty when I got the terrible news over the phone. My only thought was to drop everything and get to the hospital. I told my supervisor and drove straight from the base to Lankenau Hospital in Wynnewood, PA.

I spent the first four nights at the hospital with Al. Watching him fight for his life was something I’ll never forget. The helplessness I felt, wishing I could do more, or even take his place, was overwhelming. Those nights were terrifying, but I was also amazed by the doctors and nurses who worked tirelessly to keep him alive. We are forever grateful for their efforts.

Al is now at Kindred Hospital in Drexel Hill and is making steady progress. But the financial burden has been crushing. For about a month, Al didn’t have insurance, and we’re now responsible for those medical bills ourselves. The bills keep piling up, and we really need your help.
