Hi, my name is Jessica Dubeck, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my dear friend Jennilee and her family. Their world has been turned upside down after Jennilee’s 11-year-old daughter, Ainslee, was recently diagnosed with B-cell leukemia.

While visiting family in New Brunswick, Ainslee suddenly became very ill. After urgent testing, doctors found abnormal, cancerous cells in her blood. She was transferred by ambulance to Halifax for further testing and treatment, where her diagnosis was confirmed.

At just 11 years old, Ainslee is facing an incredibly tough journey. She will need to be in the hospital for at least six months, followed by extensive outpatient treatment. She will undergo bone marrow testing, chemotherapy, and more. Doctors have explained that she won’t be back to her “normal self” for at least three years.

One of the many heartbreaking moments for Ainslee was learning she will lose her hair during treatment. At her age, this has been especially devastating, and part of our fundraising goal is to help provide her with a high-quality wig to support her confidence and sense of self during this difficult time.

Jennilee and Rob live in Fort McMurray, Alberta, and had only been in the Maritimes visiting family when everything changed. Now they’re far from home, unable to work, and facing major unexpected expenses while focusing on their daughter’s care.
