Our beautiful friend Kelly is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. Kelly has been my best friend for over 20 years. We’ve grown through life’s highs and lows together, and she has always been the person I could rely on. She’s not just a friend, she’s family.

Just weeks after her 17th birthday last year, Kelly’s daughter Aimee went for a routine eye test. What should have been a simple check-up turned into a devastating discovery. Aimee was urgently referred for further scans and was diagnosed with multiple extremely rare brain tumours in September 2025. Since then, life has changed overnight.

At only 17, Aimee has already endured:

• Three major brain surgeries

• Removal of the largest tumour

• A shunt inserted to relieve pressure

• Countless tests, procedures, and long days of uncertainty

Despite everything, she has shown extraordinary bravery and strength. As Kelly shared:

“Aimee has been incredibly brave and shown so much courage. Words are not enough to say how proud I am of her. She is my hero.”

The type of tumours Aimee has are extremely rare, she is one of only 20 people in the world with this combination. Tragically, the treatment she urgently needs is not available in Australia. Her medical team is currently working to secure approval for Aimee to receive specialised treatment in Florida or Singapore. This treatment is essential to save her life.

While navigating Aimee’s medical crisis, Kelly is also caring for her 12 year old son, Brody.

Brody was born missing parts of his brain and lives with:

• Cerebral palsy

• Autism

• Intellectual disability

• Significant developmental challenges

He requires ongoing medical support, therapy, and care needs that do not pause while the family focuses on Aimee’s urgent treatment.

Kelly is a devoted single mother doing everything she can for her children, but the financial strain is overwhelming. She needs support to:

• Help cover travel and accommodation costs for overseas treatment

• Fund essential therapies and medical care not available publicly

• Maintain stability for Brody while Aimee undergoes treatment

• Reduce the immense financial pressure weighing on the family
