Help Support Aiko After a Devastating Apartment Fire
Any contribution, big or small, will go a long way in helping her replace what she’s lost and support her during this difficult time.
Aiko is our son Ezra’s Behavioral Interventionist (BI) at school, and she has been an incredible part of his life. She is kind, caring, and endlessly patient. Aiko works hard every day supporting children with special needs—work that is vital but, unfortunately, not highly paid. She commutes daily on the city bus and never misses a beat—always arriving on time to greet Ezra with a warm smile and a high five. But Aiko’s impact goes far beyond just our son. She’s a familiar, comforting presence in the classroom for all the children. Even though her role is specifically with Ezra, she offers her support, encouragement, and positivity to every student whenever she can. The kids all know her and love her.
Unfortunately, Aiko’s apartment building caught fire over the weekend. While her unit wasn’t directly burned, she was displaced for several days, and when she returned, she found that nearly all of her belongings had been severely damaged by smoke. Her clothing, bedding, books, and other personal items are unsalvageable.
We’re putting together this fundraiser to help Aiko get back on her feet. She gives so much of herself to others every day—now we have a chance to give back to her.
Thank you for showing her the same kindness and care that she brings into the classroom every single day.
