Help support Ahmed and his family in the G Strip

My name is Ahmed Mohamad Ayed Samaha and I am 20 years old. I reside on the streets of Deir al-Balah with my mother Rasha (52) who suffers from diabetes, my sisters Dana (16), Rama (13), Haya (7), and brother Issa (3).

I am reaching out for help to buy a tent and raise funds for ongoing expenses to feed my 4 younger siblings and mother who suffers from diabetes.

Please find it in your heart, not look away

This is my story:

We were displaced from the north on 7/11/2023 and fled to a school where we were sheltering until the 11/7/2023. On this day, we were told by the occupation forces to leave the school and move south as they threatened to bomb it. We fled the school, but the events that followed changed my life forever.

My father Mohammed (55), sister Iman (25) and brother Khaled (23) went back to the school to gather our belongings. As they were gathering our belongings the school was bombed and collapsed on top of them. My sister Iman and brother Khaled were martyred and became pieces of flesh of who they once were. My father emerged but he was injured.

We had no choice but to flee with my younger siblings, mother, and injured father and start moving south with nothing but the clothes on our backs.

We headed south on foot and encountered occupation forces on the road. They stopped us and pulled my father out from the group. Without warning, my father Mohammed was shot in the head in front of us. Our world had already collapsed and now it had collapsed into the pits of hell! We were forced to keep moving with no right to bury my father with dignity.

We moved to Rafah. From Rafah we were again forced to evacuate to the wastelands of Mawasi in Khan Yunis where we stayed for 2 weeks.

We were again forced to evacuate Khan Yunis and were asked to move to the monastery, Deir al-Balah. We resided here for a while but the homes and tents full of displaced people next to us continued to be struck by bombs.

We have now moved to the seaside in Deir al-Balah. We settled in a rented tent for a month and a half, but a week ago the owner of the tent kicked us out and we are now on the street with no shelter, food, or blankets and clothes to keep us warm.

After the murders of my father and older siblings, I have now become responsible for keeping my family alive. I wake up at 4.30am to find water and carry it on my back. Sometimes I find it and sometimes I don't. I am forced to go out and beg for money or food every day. Sometimes I am given money or food and sometimes not. My younger siblings cry to me every day and beg for food because they are hungry. We are living with no shelter in the freezing cold in the rain on the street. We are wearing the same clothes we wore a year ago while fleeing which are now tattered. We have no blankets to keep us warm.

I sit alone at night when the children are asleep and cry for my father who was the man I looked up to, the man I worked with to provide for the family before this genocide. The man I loved dearly. I want to give up and i would have but my responsibilities at such a young age are too great and I have no choice but to keep going and keep my family alive.

But i desperately need your help. This is a new campaign, but only because we are now at the point of desperation. I am completely overwhelmed with sadness and helplessness. I feel abandoned.

Your generous contributions will go towards the necessities we need. It will be used to purchase a tent, ongoing food purchases and clothing and blankets and basic survival. Your support can change our lives!

Please help us with any amount you are capable of donating. And if you are unable to donate, please consider sharing my campaign far and wide to reach those who may be able to contribute.

If you have come this far, thank you for taking the time to read my story and for any contributions you may have made. I will keep you updated on how your kindness has impacted our journey.

And to the free world, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your support. Without you, we would not have come this far in our steadfastness. May God keep you safe.
