On Monday September 22nd, our lives changed forever. My husband, Aaron, suffered a sudden aneurysm and was placed in a coma and put on life support. He is currently being cared for at the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane, and doctors expect he will be in hospital for at least a month.
This has been an incredibly frightening and overwhelming time for our family. Aaron is a devoted father, grandfather and husband and our children, particularly our 8-year-old son, miss their dad deeply. My 5 adult children have been under quite a lot of pressure and are trying to navigate this difficult time, supporting us while continuing to work and manage their own families.
Because Aaron is receiving treatment in Brisbane, our family has had to travel from Toowoomba, the Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast to be by his side. My son and I will be staying in Brisbane for the duration of his hospital stay, and the costs of accommodation, travel, and meals, on top of medical-related expenses, are mounting quickly. These are costs we never expected to face and are adding to an already heavy emotional weight.
We are reaching out to our community for support. Any contribution, big or small, will go directly toward:
• Accommodation costs in Brisbane while Aaron is in hospital
• Travel expenses for our family members coming to support him
• Day-to-day living expenses while I stay with our son in Brisbane
• Medical-related costs during Aaron’s recovery
Your kindness and generosity will help ease the financial stress so we can focus on what matters most: supporting Aaron as he heals and being there for him every step of the way.
If you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign means the world to us, too.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your love, prayers, and support during this devastating time. We believe Aaron is strong, and with your help, we can get through this together.
With gratitude,
Rachelle, Sharnie, Mon, Taneshia, Jesse, Asha and Noah.
