My name is April Holzman. I am a middle school teacher. The woman in the picture above is my mom, Krista Corona, and she is battling stage 4 cancer. She is the glue that holds our family together and the north star who always steers us to be the best versions of ourselves.
About a year ago, she started feeling sick and having pains. Throughout all of 2025, I took her to any and all doctors I could think of. I made her appointments, scheduled scans, had them run tests, and even rushed her to the ER three times. It was only on that 3rd time, after 10 months of trying to get a diagnosis, that they finally found a 6cm mass on her uterus, which had already metastasized to her lungs and bladder.
Because the doctors kept missing her cancer, the disease has progressed to the point she requires constant care while undergoing treatment and recovery. Our family depends on my income to make ends meet and address our mounting medical bills, but I also need to sacrifice my income by taking an extended family leave to provide the care she needs. She has been in and out of the hospital for several months. She caught pneumonia and has been trying to recover ever since to get treatment. She needs help getting stronger and of course basic care needs.
She means everything to us, and we are ready to do anything within our power to make her better. No sacrifice is too big. But there are only so many resources at our disposal and we need your help.
Thank you for your time and support.
