This fundraiser is supporting a special dinosaur dig in Portugal led by scientists and explorers. About 230 million years ago, the first dinosaurs were appearing, and clues found in 2025 suggest that early relatives of mammals may have lived in this area too. This October, the team will return to the red hills of southern Portugal to search for species no one has seen before and to help protect what they find. Their work could deepen our understanding of some of the earliest chapters of life on Earth.

Support from this fundraiser will help buy the gear and supplies needed for the dig and cover the preparation of fossils for research once they are uncovered. Every contribution will help make this scientific work possible and move important discoveries from the field into careful study. If you feel inspired by exploration, discovery, and the chance to uncover something truly historic, please consider helping. Your support is a way to participate in making history and to stand behind the discoveries this dig may reveal.
