Hi, my name is Steve. I'm a bus driver at Metrobus in Crawley and a rep for Unite the Union. I'm appealing for funds to support my colleague and fellow union member, Jack Garrod.
Every day, Jack showed up early, rain or shine, committed to getting his passengers safely to their destinations. As a dedicated bus driver, he took pride in his work and the responsibility that came with it. But in a tragic turn of events, he was seriously injured in an accident while driving his route.
He is now facing a long and difficult road to recovery.
After undergoing surgery to treat his injuries, doctors have told him to expect months of rehabilitation and healing. During this time, he will be unable to work — placing an enormous financial strain on him and his family.
Beyond being a hardworking professional, he is first and foremost a devoted father to two wonderful children who depend on him every single day. Right now, instead of focusing solely on recovery, he is worrying about how he's going to pay household expenses, and how to continue providing for his family.
That’s where we can come in.
We are raising funds to help cover:
Lost income during his recovery
Household bills and daily living expenses
Support for his two children during this challenging time
No amount is too small. Every donation, share, and word of encouragement makes a difference. If you’re unable to give financially, please consider sharing this campaign with your friends and community.
Let’s come together to support a man who has spent his career safely carrying others where they needed to go. Now it’s our turn to help carry him and his family through this difficult journey.
Thank you for your generosity, kindness, and support.
Steve
