Support Restorative Practices through Rugby in NYC

Donation protected
As dedicated members of West End Secondary School Rugby, we believe in promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, and dedication through our love for rugby. However, we face a significant challenge - we lack the necessary funding and equipment to ensure our safety while practicing. We know that with the right support, we can not only improve our skills on the field but also use this as an opportunity to create a sense of belonging, community, and equity.

Our ultimate goals are:

1. Build a sustainable program throughout the middle and high school

2. Recruit rugby alumni students from previously established programs (Lehman HS, West Side HS) to be part of the coaching team and mentor current students

3. Establish a Middle School and High School boys and girls JV and Varsity teams

4. Participate and compete in the NYC Public Schools Athletic League

5. Build connections with non-profit rugby programs nationwide.

We currently have 50 students participating in our elective class three times a week, and seven active members in the Play Rugby academy, with two graduates playing rugby in college. We are confident that we can make a positive impact on these student's lives and the community.

We believe that together, we can overcome any obstacle and achieve great things. That's why we are seeking your help in creating a safe and inclusive environment for everyone to enjoy the sport of rugby. Thank you for considering our mission, and we look forward to creating a brighter future together.
