In August 2023, on a stormy afternoon in a tiny hospital room, Giles was diagnosed with stage IV neuroendocrine tumors. What was supposed to be a routine visit for a suspected case of food poisoning had turned into a five day hospital stay, and at just 28 years old and a brand new college graduate, the earth shattering news we received changed the meaning of life as we knew it. Now in this unthinkable reality, getting Giles over this massive hurdle and moving onwards into a beautiful, fulfilling future is the only thing that matters to us. And we need your help!

We were repeatedly told by doctors that seeing a cancer like this in a patient as young as Giles is exceedingly rare. Finding the right treatment has been a rough journey with many road bumps and unexpected detours that have taken its toll on Giles’s strength and overall well being. The first two treatments we tried over the course of the last 7 months only aggravated and progressed things further and caused many other adverse side-effects that have made it hard for him to comfortably enjoy his day to day life. Currently, he is undergoing an intensive chemotherapy regimen, but we want to pursue cutting-edge alternative treatments as well to get our sweet boy back to feeling like his best self.

For those reading this that aren’t lucky enough to know Giles personally, he is a spark of pure light, an unforgettable soul who touches the lives of everyone he meets, even if only for the briefest of times. There isn’t one place Giles steps foot in that he doesn’t run into someone emphatically excited to see him. (Even in the middle of the desert in Arizona, he ran into an old acquaintance from high school that immediately recognized him.) He’s a pillar in the lives of everyone who loves him, the kind of pal to cook you dinner and your favorite dessert when you’re feeling down or simply just because, the kind of pal you can call up at 11 p.m. to drive over and get a giant spider out of your house for you (true story), the kind of person that makes the world a wonderful place to be in even when there is so much evidence to the contrary. It is truly impossible to capture Giles in words, even if we had unlimited space to do so, and having to watch someone as remarkable and revered as him go through the perilous ups and downs of cancer treatment has been indescribably difficult for all of us.

Our goal is to get Giles to a state-of-the-art clinic in Nevada that specializes in integrative cancer therapies that are curated to fit Giles’s exact needs. However, accessing this kind of care comes at a significant financial cost. And we need your help to make this journey possible!

All funds raised will go directly towards helping us get Giles to Nevada, covering expenses for his treatment, travel, and any other associated costs as we do everything we can to help him beat this disease.

He can’t wait for the healing days ahead where he can finally do the things he’s been looking forward to doing as an adventurous, creative 29 year old: making music again and sharing it with the world, writing and DMig D&D campaigns to play with his best pals, spending hours in the kitchen cooking and baking his special recipes, creating costumes from scratch, traveling around the world, and getting married to the love of his life Ellie.

Giles has touched so many lives with his vibrant spirit and generous heart. Now we need to rally around him during this difficult time and give him the support he has always selflessly given to others.
