Help Support 18 year old Gelvy Road to Recovery

Hello everyone; this fundraiser is for 18 year old Gelvy Ortiz (high school student) who on June 2, 2023, suffered life altering injuries caused by a careless driver. Gelvy was sitting at a bus stop waiting to go home after a long day, but unfortunately was hit by an out of control vehicle, lamentably this caused him to sustain life altering injuries. He lost his left leg completely, and his right leg is still under observation with a big risk that he might lose it as well. Gelvy is the youngest of 3 siblings who are orphans; he (along with his siblings) came to the United States from Guatemala, in hopes of finding a better life with opportunities. Gelvy was a full time high school student, who many describe to be smart and hardworking, as he always managed to obtain the best grades at school, regardless of the language and racial barriers he has faced. He did this all while his brothers worked so that they could support one another. Sadly this has all changed due to the accident, as the only caretakers for Gelvy, his older brothers have stopped working to care for him, therefore these brothers need our help to pay the medical bills, and pay for their basic human necessities (rent, food, bills, etc.) Overall help for Gelvy that will need lots of therapy not only physically but mentally and for future expenses such as getting a prosthetic leg and other resources that will be needed in the future. Hola a todos; esta recaudación de fondos es para Gelvy Ortiz (estudiante de secundaria) de 18 años, quien el 2 de junio de 2023 sufrió lesiones que le cambiaron la vida causadas por un conductor descuidado. Gelvy estaba sentado en una parada de autobús esperando volver a casa después de un largo día, pero desafortunadamente fue atropellado por un vehículo fuera de control, lamentablemente esto le causó lesiones que le cambiaron la vida. Perdió su pierna izquierda por completo, y su pierna derecha aún está bajo observación con un gran riesgo de que también la pierda. Gelvy es el menor de 3 hermanos huérfanos; él (junto con sus hermanos) llegó a los Estados Unidos desde Guatemala, con la esperanza de encontrar una vida mejor con oportunidades. Gelvy era un estudiante de secundaria de tiempo completo, a quien muchos describen como inteligente y trabajador, ya que siempre logró obtener las mejores calificaciones en la escuela, independientemente de las barreras idiomáticas y raciales que ha enfrentado. Hizo todo esto mientras sus hermanos trabajaban para poder apoyarse mutuamente. Lamentablemente, todo esto ha cambiado debido al accidente, ya que los únicos cuidadores de Gelvy, sus hermanos mayores, han dejado de trabajar para cuidarlo, por lo tanto, estos hermanos necesitan nuestra ayuda para pagar las facturas médicas y pagar sus necesidades humanas básicas (alquiler, alimentos, facturas, etc.). Ayuda general para Gelvy que necesitará mucha terapia no solo física sino también mental y para gastos futuros, como obtener una prótesis de pierna y otros recursos que serán necesarios en el futuro Cualquier cosa cuenta, y te agradeceríamos mucho si pudieras ayudar a Gelvy y sus hermanos; gracias y que Dios los bendiga a todos!
