Thoughts, Feelings & Fear..;
Collecting my Thoughts to put my feelings into Words. Unpacking the baggage cluttering our Existence!
Jan 2 2020, turned our world upside down. My beloved husband Marco suffered another stroke His medical history is extensive!
Although it was challenging, he worked hard on his recovery. When January 2021 came it was with a heavy heart that we came to terms with the reality of Marco not returning to his 23 year career as a Fire Captain with Shreveport Fire Department.
We discussed the options with the fire chief and at home, we decided that a disability retirement was the best choice, especially because it allowed my husband the opportunity to return to work once he fully recovers. We were down, but encouraged!
Just 4 months into our retirement Bliss my Superman had a very aggressive seizure and was rushed to the hospital. After in excruciating wait and countless tests doctors informed us of our situation. They found several Unknown masses in Marco's lungs as well as in his brain, described as legions. Further testing later determined it to be an inflammation of tissue, a rare symptom of Sarcoidosis...
....... And there it was, finally some clarity. We saw gloom but no longer doom.. We were optimistic to have a diagnosis & a plan for treatment. It has not been, nor is it expected to be easy ahead on the long Journey to recovery.
(* Sarcoidosis Is a connective tissue disease, basically your immune system attacks your body causing pain and inflammation. Marco's situation is complicated and he suffers severe symptoms.
While we poured all our energy on Hope, Heart, Health & Healing, medical bills & other Necessary obligations has been neglected.
X-rays, CT scans, Bronchoscopys, Biopsies, MIR scans, Repeat hospitalization, Physical therapy, Medication, (& it's side effects: diabetes, balance issues & trimmers) an additional Seizure & What seems to be every specialist known to man. Just this year, so far..
Although we appreciate all the attention and understand the necessity, it is leaving us stretched & stressed, simply overwhelmed financially as well as emotionally
Since the official retirement date in Jan of 2021, We have been living off savings alone, which has kept us afloat, but just barely. As of today we have yet to revive a retirement check or collect disability benefits. Which has caused us to forsake important obligations. Our funds have quickly depleted but no Bill has receded.. We are lacking behind & debt keeps rolling in.
The Goal..: Is to Expeditiously see Marco's full & Complete Recovery. However, what that may cost us financially is equally scary. In all honesty at this point we can't even afford to consider it.
So our initial "Goal" of raising $5000 is merely our Humble hope but not a reflection of the need at hand.. Our actual challenge is way Greater!
Updated Goal; With the advise of being fully transparent, I decided to raise the bar to closer reflect our Reality. (Still Optimistic..!) Since both Treatment & recovery will be on going, we really can't say what the Cost will be.
We remain diligent in our prayer and praise..!
We appreciate that healing is bestowed from Heaven, So we request any prayer you can spare. If you can help with a dollar or so that would be Greatly appreciated too.
Throughout this entire ordeal, my King remaines; Optimistic, Praying, Loving, Smiling, Powerful, Positive, Brave, Resilient, Funny (if he says so himself), Patient, Encouraged & Encouraging.
We understand that so many are going through hard times emotionally, financially, physically and spiritually. We realized the power of prayer and positive thinking so we welcome all the positive Energy. If you find it in your heart and wallet to assist us monetary, we will value ever dollar Tremendously.
Sorry for long rant, but I needed to get it off my mind.. We will provide update of our situation & Marco's condition, Thank you.
Thank you for your time & attention, We Love you & will be Praying for your Prosperity!
Sincerely Michella Tucker, on behalf of Team Tucker as official spokesperson for my SuperMan, Our Humble Warrior Marco Paul Tucker.
