My name is Christina, and I am a friend of the community at Sunshine Family Farm, a small close-knit community built entirely by hand. "Friends and family live together off-grid in Mokuleʻia, Oʻahu, growing their own food, raising animals, and supporting one another through a shared commitment to a sustainable lifestyle. Recently, their farm was hit by severe flash flooding caused by back-to-back Kona low storms. The first flood was devastating, but everyone was safe. They worked quickly to release the animals to higher ground and began assessing the damage. Crops were lost, structures were impacted, but recovery still felt possible. They immediately got to work raising buildings and preparing in case more flooding came. Only days later, in the middle of the night, a second and much more powerful flood rushed through the area. Waist-high water tore through the farm, forcing everyone to evacuate with little time to gather belongings. Now, the damage is extensive. Much of the farm has been destroyed — including food crops, infrastructure, and essential living spaces. The community that they built with their own hands has been deeply impacted. Despite everything, they are safe — but they need help to rebuild. I have set up this fundraiser so Tim Clark, who handles the administrative matters for the farm, can directly withdraw the funds to pay for repairing or rebuilding the structures, replacing lost crops, restoring vital infrastructures, caring for animals, and replacing necessary tools. Your support will help Sunshine Family Farm recover and continue their mission of sustainable living. Please consider donating or sharing this fundraiser to help them rebuild their home and community. Every bit of support makes a difference and brings hope to those who have lost so much.
